The Presbyterian Journal gives this timely advice to those who suffer personal injury from a brother or sister in Christ: still your soul before God at the moment of impact. Apply direct pressure of understanding to the wound. Wash thoroughly with kindness to remove all vindictiveness. Coat it liberally with the ointment of love, and bandage it with forgiveness. Don’t pick the scab off by bringing up the subject and opening the wound. Avoid all self-pity which is painful and touchy. Take a generous dose of antibiotics from the Word of God several times daily, and stay in contact with the Great Physician at all times.
“If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.”
